About licensing,

  • All dogs six months or older located within the following areas of Elko County must be licensed,

    Crestview Subdivision
    Dysart Ranch Subdivision
    Humboldt River Ranchos
    Jackpot
    Jarbidge
    Lamoille
    Last Chance Ranchos
    Lipparelli Estates
    Lucky Nugget Areas
    Meadow Valley Ranchos
    Montello
    Mountain City
    North Fifth County Area
    Pleasant Valley
    Rolling Hills Subdivision
    Ruby Mountain Estates
    Ryndon Section 36
    Spring Creek
    Sundance Estates Subdivision
    Twin River Ranchos Subdivision
    Valley Vista Subdivision
    Western Hills Areas
    Wildhorse Estates Subdivision

  • Licenses must be renewed annually; failure to do so may result in a late fee for each unlicensed dog.

  • Licenses are valid January 1 thru December 31 of each year.

  • The deadline for purchasing licenses without penalty is the last day of February.

  • Altered (spayed / neutered) dogs are eligible for a reduced rate on the license fee.

  • No license is issued unless proof of current rabies vaccination is provided.

  • Purchased licenses are non-refundable.

  • Licenses are not transferable from one dog to another.

  • Tags must be worn by dogs at all times.

  • If your dog becomes lost, please call Elko Central Dispatch at 775-777-7300.

To renew a license,

  1. Click 'Renew License'.

  2. Provide your Account ID and Password or a past license number. If valid, a shopping cart is made having your renewing licenses.

  3. To purchase new licenses, return to this page and select the new items.

  4. When you have all the items you need, click 'Check Out' from within the shopping cart to complete the process.

To purchase a new license,

The license used is based upon your prior year registration. You can select a different license from the dropdown box available in the shopping cart after you have logged in.
$1.00 is assessed per order for postage.
Late Registration

Items purchased online are subject to a per item convenience fee, indicated as 'Online Fee'.

Purchases made online are payable using American Express, Discover, Mastercard and Visa credit cards.
